After installing from the Marketplace, open any Google Doc, go to Extensions → Screenplay Editor, and click 'AI Live Formatting'. Just write. Your screenplay formats itself.

How do I format a scene heading?

Just type. With AI Live Formatting enabled, your screenplay formats automatically as you write. No buttons needed.

Can I collaborate with others?

Yes! You get all Google Docs collaboration features: real-time editing, comments, suggestion mode, and sharing.

How do I export my script?

Use the Export button in the sidebar. Choose PDF or FDX format. The file saves directly to your Google Drive.

Is my script private?

Absolutely. Your content never leaves Google's servers. We don't see your work, ever.

Does it work offline?

Screenplay Editor requires an internet connection. Google Docs' offline mode may allow limited functionality.

Is it really free?

Yes. Screenplay Editor is completely free to use. No hidden fees, no premium tiers.

What is AI Live Formatting?

AI Live Formatting automatically detects and formats your screenplay elements as you type. Scene headings, action, dialogue, parentheticals. Type = before character names, we handle the rest.
