A poster for a film that does not exist yet.

Drop in your screenplay. It reads who is in it, where it happens and how people speak, then draws the poster that film would have. It is the one thing on this site you will actually want to show somebody.

You can also pick a file from your computer.

PDF, Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain (.fountain, .spmd) and plain text. Nothing is uploaded.

What it is for, honestly

A poster will not get your script read and it will not make it better. What it does is give a project that only exists as pages something a person can look at, which turns out to matter when you are three drafts in and nobody has seen it.

It is a sketch of a film, not a promise of one. Put it on your wall, put it at the top of a pitch document, show it to the friend who keeps asking what you are working on.

Then go and write it.

Screenplay Editor formats your screenplay while you type in Google Docs, so the script behind the poster stays yours and stays in your Drive. It is free to start.

Questions about posters

I write my own films in Google Docs, so I built the tools I kept wishing existed.

Ask me something
What does it read from my script?
Who speaks the most, where the film mostly happens, how long it is, and about thirty lines of dialogue taken from across the whole script rather than only the opening. The page shows you exactly what gets sent before you press the button.
Can I use the poster for my film?
It is yours to use. Treat it as a sketch: it is drawn from a summary of your script by a model, so it will get the mood closer than the details.
How many can I make?
Three a day from the same network. Drawing costs real money on our side, so the limit is low on purpose. Inside Google Docs the add-on has its own allowance.
Why is my script not uploaded but the summary is?
Because drawing needs a model and a model needs something to read. Everything the site can do without a server is done without one. This tool and the logline writer are the only two that talk to anything.
